NOVEL SUBMISSIONS

Grand Mal Press is seeking quality novels in the 70,000 to 90,000 word range. Genres we are looking for include:
- Horror
- Sci Fi
- Detective/Mystery
- Thriller
- Genre Related Humor (I.E. Christopher Moore, Douglas Adams)
- Mashups
We are NOT interested in Erotica, Vampires, Fantasy, or Graphic Novels.
We are NOT accepting submissions for short story collections or novellas
Payment: Authors will receive a 3-figure advance up front. Authors will also earn quarterly royalties.
Book Format and Accessibility: Books will be printed in POD format (ebooks will be available two weeks after the print release). This means they WILL be available through online retailers such as Amazon.com, Borders.com, etc. We will also actively seek reviews and will promote it to the best of our abilities.
Submission guidelines: Email your manuscript as an attachment to grandmalpress_AT_gmail_DOT_com. Submissions MUST be made in 12pt Times New Roman, SINGLE SPACED in "normal" format. Failure to abide may result in your work not being considered. Please include a very short synopsis as well.
Include your name and e-mail address on the cover page together with a short bio. Include the following: "This work is entirely original and my own and has not been previously published in any format whatsoever." If you have the ability and intention to promote the book containing your work, please let us know your plan. No simultaneous submissions. No reprints. Put "Novel Submission" somewhere in the subject line of your email. Also include as much of the Title as possible in the subject line.
Return time: Decisions concerning acceptance or rejection will be made within a reasonable time by e-mail. If you have not heard from us after 3 months inquire by e-mail.

9/21/11:New novels on the way from Iain Robert Wright and Craig Saunders, two great authors from across the pond!
8/29/11: New books on the way from Eric S. Brown and Nick Cook.
5/9/11: The detective horror antho is out. We've also accepted books from Gregory L. Norris, Randy Chandler, and David T. Wilbanks. Our first Mystery Novel is on the horizon, written by Robb White.
4/23/11: The Detective Horror antho is now CLOSED to submissions. Thank you.
3/31/11: We are almost done filling the detective horror antho. Cover design should be up in a couple weeks. And we are still open for novel submissions.
12/15/10: The Detective Horror anthology has been reopened to submissions. If you submitted during the last period we will be contacting you very soon. We apologize for the delay.
